A new law in Rhode Island is opening a door that has been shut for far too long.
H 7200 — Rhode Island’s childhood sexual abuse civil revival window — takes effect July 2026. This means survivors who were previously barred from filing civil claims due to expired statutes of limitations now have the legal right to seek justice.
No more “too late.”
No more “the window closed.”
No more institutional immunity.
If you were abused as a minor in Rhode Island — or know someone who was — this law was written for you.
