This past week, Anthony attended the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) Family Law Trial Skills program in Chicago—an intensive, hands-on program built specifically for family law attorneys and centered on a child custody case.

Participants practice the full range of trial skills: persuasive openings and closings, effective direct examination, exhibit work, cross-examination and impeachment, and mock bench trials involving expert witnesses—all with real-time feedback from experienced faculty.

Even as an experienced trial attorney, Anthony (and our whole team) believes in continuously expanding, refining, and polishing our skills so we can offer the strongest possible advocacy for the families we serve.

Last Saturday our team at Hill Crabb attended and sponsored the Parenting With Grace fundraising Gala — and what a special night it was! 👖💎

The Denim & Diamonds theme set a fun, sparkly tone for an evening that was all about supporting families. Parenting With Grace does such important work providing supervised parenting time and parent education so kids can stay safely connected with their parents during difficult seasons. One of the highlights was hearing from their very first client. She shared how the supervised services helped her maintain a relationship with her child while she worked through her drug addiction — and the gratitude in her voice was powerful. Stories like hers are exactly why this organization matters.

The room was full, the energy was great, and we raised a lot of money so they can keep helping more families. We’re proud to support Parenting With Grace and everything they do for kids and parents in our community.

This past Thursday, three Hill Crabb attorneys visited the Family Law Society at UST Law for a panel discussion with students. They took questions on everything from family law practice to the emotional side of litigation—and had a great conversation with the next generation of attorneys. Shout-out to our law clerk Jake Schumann (3L at UST and Treasurer of the Family Law Society) for helping make it happen! Alexis brings 10 years of family law experience to our Edina team and will lead our new Appellate Law practice group. Her path into family law started as a Judicial Law Clerk, and she also holds a finance degree, which she puts to work helping clients navigate the financial side of divorce — from property division to support calculations. Suzanne brings more than 30 years of exclusive experience in complex family law, with deep expertise in high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth divorces. She focuses on the intricate financial side of these cases—business valuations, executive compensation, retirement assets, cash-flow analysis for spousal maintenance and child support, and contested custody matters.

She’s appeared before the Minnesota Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, tried cases across the Twin Cities and surrounding counties, served as a Child Support Magistrate, and is a Rule 114 Qualified Neutral.
