JOB: Domestic Violence Staff Attorney
LOCATION: Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota, Brainerd, Minnesota
ORGANIZATION: Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota (LASNEM) provides legal representation to low-income and senior citizens. LASNEM serves 11 counties with offices in Duluth, Grand Rapids, Virginia and satellite offices in Brainerd and Pine City.
DUTIES: May include, but are not limited to: providing rapid, holistic advocacy and legal services to Crow Wing County survivors of domestic abuse; managing a caseload; providing advice and brief services for clients where appropriate; appearing in administrative and judicial forums; and developing, organizing, and working with a coalition to create a Domestic Violence Court in Crow Wing County.
QUALIFICATIONS: Law degree. A license to practice law in Minnesota. Valid drivers license. Poverty law and/or family law experience preferred. Demonstrated oral and written advocacy skills. Sensitivity to the needs and problems of low-income individuals and survivors of domestic violence.
SALARY RANGE: $45,000+, depending on experience and qualifications.

DUTIES: May include, but are not limited to: representing low-income individuals in all areas of poverty law; managing a caseload; providing advice and brief services for clients where appropriate; and appearing in administrative and judicial forums. The attorney in this position will serve clients primarily in Itasca County.
QUALIFICATIONS: Law degree. A license to practice law in Minnesota. Valid drivers license. Poverty law and/or family law experience preferred. Demonstrated oral and written advocacy skills. Sensitivity to the needs and problems of low-income and senior citizens.
