NACC celebrates the Supreme Court of Maryland’s decision in In re K.B., a case in which NACC and partners filed an amicus brief. The court found that, “a CINA proceeding revolves entirely around the wellbeing of a particular child and can determine whether custody of the child will change. Thus, there is a baseline assumption that a child attends their CINA proceeding to assist counsel."
