The money is a smoke screen to the public.
The $200K was USGS funding awarded years ago that will go to USGS not the PAIS sea turtle program. Eric Brunnemann is taking credit for funds awarded years before he arrived. He is trying to sway public trust toward the National Park Service due to bad publicity both locally and nationally.
The $100K will go to University of Florida for research not to the PAIS sea turtle program.
The sea turtle program lost $100K this year because Eric Brunnemann rerouted it to other divisions.
The $300K competition grant money that the sea turtle program won was returned in June 2020 after Eric Brunnemann became the new PAIS superintendent
The sea turtle program is NO longer Allowed to apply for grants $
The sea turtle program is being dismantled not strengthened.
Take it to HEART .
Eric is not a good fit for the NPS or Texas. Next, he and the NPS will take our beach.
Fair warning if Eric can destroy a 40+ year NPS world famous woman scientist’s career, our beaches are peanuts to squash.
