Joslyn Law Firm: Criminal Defense Attorney

Always seeking to be the Best Criminal Defense Attorney in Columbus, Ohio - With unmatched professionalism, experience, and legal acumen, the Joslyn Law Firm ranks as one of Ohio’s top criminal defense and DUI defense law firms.

The firm’s managing lawyer, Brian Joslyn, has a lengthy list of credentials. He has been chosen by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys as one of the ten best criminal defense attorneys in Ohio. Columbus CEO Magazine nominated him as a top criminal lawyer in the state of Ohio, and he also has been touted as a Top 3 criminal defense lawyer in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, the National Trial Lawyers Association identified him as a Top 100 Trial Attorney in the entire country.

Solely centering on criminal defense in Central Ohio (including Franklin, Pickaway, Madison, Delaware, Licking, Union and Fairfield Counties), with a proven track record of victories, Brian and his team of exceptional legal minds strive to raise the bar on criminal legal representation by individually tailoring each defense to their clients’ needs and the specific circumstances of each case. Regardless of a given client’s background, profession, or status, the Joslyn Law Firm renders the highest standard of service.

All criminal charges must be approached with the utmost caution, and a conviction for any criminal offense, even a drug crime, sex crime, gun/weapons charge, or domestic violence charge, can cause long lasting penalties (e.g., on school enrollment, an individual’s ability to obtain a professional license, employment, finances, family issues, and personal freedom). Therefore, to assume unilateral responsibility for your defense can be a massive mistake, with potentially devastating consequences.

Designing an successful defense requires the acute legal knowledge and expertise of attorneys who are familiar with the judges and prosecutors assigned to criminal cases and can formulate cogent arguments that result in reduced sentences or the dismissal of charges entirely. The firm’s lawyers have handled thousands of criminal cases in federal, state, city, and mayors courts and work daily toward and achieve such outcomes.

In keeping with our standards, every attorney at the Joslyn Law Firm (including support staff) has a love not only for their craft, but for the lives of our clients. They take care to listen, inform, and advise their clients as though they were family.

Article by Attorney Brian Joslyn discussing the case involving police brutality of a college student being represented by the Institute for Justice.

“The Fourth Amendment prevents the government from undertaking unreasonable searches and seizures,” said Institute for Justice Attorney Patrick Jaicomo. “Here, at every step of the way, the officers were unreasonable in searching and seizing James, including when they beat him. We filed this lawsuit in 2016. It’s now 2020 and the government still hasn’t even filed an answer addressing all the claims that we’ve raised."

Enjoyed every second of the Federalist Society, National Lawyers Convention in Washington D.C this past weekend. Our meeting Saturday morning was regarding professional and ethical responsibilities. Criminal Defense lawyers often times deal with the complicated issues that other areas of law simply don't have. It is always important to remind yourself of the rules of professional responsibility and the high level of ethical standards this profession deserves, especially when you are dealing with individuals freedoms.

With the help of Attorneys Brian Joslyn and Tamas Tabor of the Joslyn Law Firm, Delbert Matthews is free at last. After a lengthy stay in jail and a demanding trial, a jury of his peers deliberated for only two hours before returning with a not guilty verdict. Adamant about his innocence from the very beginning, Matthews took the stand to advocate for the truth. Now that he has been vindicated, he can settle back into the life he left behind while waiting for justice. For more information:

My son's case was challenging from the start, but Tamas was prepared for the fight. My son was facing 4 felonies, with a total of 14 yrs in prison. He was able to get an F2 amended to an F3 & one of the lesser felonies dropped. In the end, my son was sentenced to community control, community service & court cost. Tamas turned the impossible into a reality & I cannot thank him enough!
I highly recommend Brian at the Joslyn Law Firm to anyone who is seeking legal representation with an exceedingly skilled and confident lawyer. On top of being informative and reassuring, he was easy to contact and very prompt in returning any calls or emails. He listened, addressed any questions, and his never give up attitude is second to none in his dedication to his clients. He is a man of action in the justice system and his results parallel this.
