Chances are, nine times out of ten, I’m nicer than my face looks. 😬🥰😂

But that one time….👀

Fun fact- during these photos, I had a lady friend help me hop around on my good foot and bring me my shoes because I am still unable to walk without crutches and definitely won’t be wearing my beloved heels anytime soon. 10 months and counting, 2 more surgeries to go. 😖 When the same friend saw this photo, her response was, “you look kind of scary and intimidating.” That’s when I knew, I had to have this photo! 🥳

The photographer did an amazing job camouflaging my still swollen foot and ridiculously shrunken left calf muscle. She also somehow painted over the discoloration of my left leg and foot in this photo. No idea how to work that photoshop magic, but Bravo! 🙌🏻 🪄

Hiking is a lot like life.. the journey only requires you to put one foot in front of the other, over and over again. If you allow yourself the opportunity to be present during the entirety of the trek, you will witness the beauty every step of the way, and not just at the summit.

April 2023 Hocking Hills- I decided to post a few pics of what I see along the journey. At a glance, the first photo just looked like a bunch of trees, but as I got closer, I could see more. For some reason, over the years, people decided to immortalize their love on this tree. I would wager many of those relationships have fallen since then, but this tree has not. ❤️

Hopefully only a few more weeks of non-weight-bearing in this gray orthotic boot. I can’t wait to get back out and do some soul searching in the hills. I am definitely not going to take the ability to get out, and explore or have small adventures on my own for granted…

Trust is a fluid thing when it comes to people….or at least it should be. At my age, I’ve come to realize you can’t always count on people; friends, family, business associates, lovers- most of them will let you down sooner or later. When something feels off, it usually is. But my gut, that damn thing, she hasn’t let me down yet.🤍

So a few months ago, I got bored and decided to build a floating shelf from scratch on my days off. What you find in the stores are terrible quality and extremely expensive… i’ve already decided this one is being moved into my bedroom because I’ll definitely do a better job on the next one. However, Not too bad since I haven’t done a woodworking project in a long time and I had to improvise in the tool department. 👀😂

Usually when the weather is icky, like now, is when I find things like this to do… maybe that’s just an excuse not to leave home … 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fillet with roasted red peppers, cucumber stuffed avocados with olive oil, cilantro and lime drizzle
