Ever wondered if it matters for immigration benefits if you are in a same s*x relationship? The great news is it does not, the rules are the same for all relationship. US citizens who are in a relationship with a foreign national can file a K-1 petition to bring him/her/them to the US. This process is called the fiance visa process. Once your partner is here, you must get married within 90 days or he/she/they has/have to leave the US. The only process available for a green card holder to bring a partner to the US is through a marriage based green card.
