Everyone tells you rental property is passive income. I’m the lawyer they call when it isn’t. Broken leases, property damage, the eviction that drags on for months. An index fund has never once shown up on my desk as a problem. Just something to think about before you buy that ‘investment.

I left big law and built something that wasn’t supposed to work. No office. No staff. No hourly billing. Just me, available when my clients need me. Over 1,000 clients later, it’s working.

Legal Halp has 5x’ed in the past year alone because of how I’ve flipped the traditional law firm model.

I watched clients get over-billed and frustrated working with a big firm. Every call, text and email was racking up charges. Lawyers are expensive, and because of that, clients are reluctant to use them. I’ve changed the entire model by being more innovative and flexible with pricing, and most importantly, more approachable and conversational with clients. A lawyer should be your first, proactive call before a problem gets worse, not a last-resort phone call when you’ve run out of options.

In 2017 I walked past a McLaren dealership and took a picture.

I wasn’t close. I wasn’t even in the conversation. I just looked at it and thought, one day.

At the time I was an associate at a big law firm. Good job. Good salary. Clear path. But I knew I wanted to build something of my own.
So I walked away. Started from scratch. Built a law firm from my desk at home with no clients, no staff, and no safety net.

I didn’t set a deadline. I didn’t track milestones. I just picked up the phone every time it rang, took care of every client who trusted me, and let the referrals do the rest.

9 years later I took delivery of the car I once took a picture of.
But the car isn’t why I’m posting this.

I’m posting this because when I took that photo in 2017, I didn’t know anyone who had built what I was trying to build. No blueprint. No roadmap.

Just a bet on myself and a model I learned from watching my father run his business for 65 years…pick up the phone, treat people like family, and never cut corners.

That’s what Legal Halp was built on. Flat fees. No hourly billing. And a lawyer who actually picks up.

(apologies in advance to my car dealership friends and clients)

Before I went to law school, I sold cars. Started as a porter washing and delivering vehicles, then worked my way up to salesman at Mercedes.

I learned every tactic dealerships use to squeeze more money out of you. The payment switch. The rate markup. The holdback lie. I used them.

Now I negotiate contracts for a living. So when I walk into a dealership today, I’m playing both sides of the table.

Here’s everything they don’t want you to know.

My client spent $50,000 in legal fees in ONE month trying to sue his own business partner. Then he called me.

No partnership agreement. No operating agreement. Nothing protecting him from the person he started the business with.

All of that could have been prevented with a few thousand dollars in preventative legal work upfront.

This happens more than you think. Clients come to us every week after spending thousands with other lawyers trying to clean up a mess that never had to exist.

The partner you trust today can become the lawsuit you pay for tomorrow.

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Send this to your business partner right now.

I don’t have a front desk. I don’t have a receptionist. I run my entire practice from my phone. Clients text me. I text them back. We talk through problems like normal people instead of scheduling a formal call two weeks out through a paralegal.

I left the traditional firm model behind because it was slow and it made everything harder than it needed to be. Cases that should take weeks were dragging on for months. Clients felt like they needed an appointment just to ask a question.

That’s not how I work.

We keep it moving. You have a problem, we talk about it and figure it out. No runaround. No waiting. No corporate lawyer voice. Just real conversations that actually get things done. And honestly that’s the reason a lot of my clients hired me in the first place.

They were tired of the old way. They just wanted a lawyer who felt like a real person. That’s the whole model..

A financial advisor who refers me a ton of business just sent me one of his wealthiest clients. Young. Making serious money. No trust. No will. No powers of attorney. Nothing. Everything this man has built would go straight to probate court if something happened to him tomorrow. That’s a public process where a judge decides who gets what. Not him. Not his family. A courtroom. If you’re young and building real wealth, that’s exactly when you need an estate plan. Not later.

I quit Big Law with no clients, no plan, and no safety net. Opened my laptop and started sending $250 engagement letters to friends and family. LLCs. Simple contracts. Whatever came through the door. But every client got my cell number, a flat fee, and a lawyer who actually picked up. That’s it. That’s the whole strategy. $250 became $2,500. $2,500 became $25,000. Every single one came from a referral. People don’t stay because you’re cheap. They stay because you make them feel like they matter. Three years later — $1M in revenue and I still answer every call myself. Follow if you want to see what comes next.
