🏰🦜 YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE BEING A MOBILE NOTARY WILL TAKE YOU! 🦜🏰

Well, let me tell you about my Friday morning! 😂❤️

Today, my first signing took me to a beautiful historic mansion in the Ravenna, Ohio area, and WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!

When I first pulled up, I saw these enormous iron gates that reminded me of a cemetery straight out of The Addams Family! 😳😂 I actually sat in my vehicle for a moment wondering if I had the right address!

But what awaited me inside was absolutely AMAZING!

The mansion is undergoing renovations, and inside was something I never expected to see — a sanctuary filled with more than 50 beautiful macaws and parrots! 🦜❤️

Some of them even said "HELLO" when I greeted them!

And here's the funny part. Two of the birds started fighting, and the homeowner calmly told them to stop. AND THEY LISTENED! 😂

I was invited to step inside their area, but after seeing the SIZE of those macaws, I politely admired them from a distance! 🤣

But the most beautiful part of this experience wasn't the mansion or even the birds.

It was learning that the homeowner lovingly fosters, rescues, and rehabilitates these magnificent creatures, helping them find new homes. ❤️

What started as an intimidating arrival turned into one of the most fascinating signing appointments I've experienced.

This is one of the things I love about being a mobile notary. Every appointment introduces me to different people, different places, and sometimes extraordinary stories.

Today reminded me that behind every door, there's a story waiting to be discovered.

Today was one of THOSE days. 💙

I completed **3 signings**, went grocery shopping, helped with homework, headed back out for **another signing**, came home…and cleaned the house. 😩😂

That’s **4 signings**, groceries, homework, business, home and family—all in one day.

Running a business while taking care of a home and family isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes there’s no perfect balance. Sometimes you’re answering business calls while thinking about what’s for dinner. Sometimes you’re leaving one appointment knowing there’s laundry, homework and a whole other list waiting for you at home.

But this is what entrepreneurship looks like for many of us.

I’m a business owner, but I’m also a wife, a grandmother, and the person who still has to make sure life at home keeps moving. ❤️

Tonight, I am TIRED. Not “I could use a little nap” tired. I mean **sit down and don’t ask me for NOTHING else tonight** tired. 😂

But I’m also grateful.

Grateful for every client who trusted **Family1st Notary LLC** today. Grateful that my business continues to move forward. And grateful to come home to the family I work so hard for.

Some days you wear the CEO hat.
Some days you wear the family hat.
And some days…you wear every hat in the closet. 😂

Today was definitely one of those days.

Today’s travels took Family1st Notary LLC to The Avenue at Warrensville Care and Rehabilitation Center. 💙

My signer was such a nice lady, and I was happy that I could assist her.

This appointment was a little different because my signer did not have current identification available. Instead of simply saying, “Sorry, I can’t help,” we were able to properly establish her identity with the assistance of a credible witness and complete the notarization.

This is one of the reasons I believe mobile notary work—especially in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and hospitals—requires patience and preparation. Every appointment isn't going to fit neatly into the same little box.

Sometimes you have to know what options are available while still following proper notarial procedure.

Today’s hospital notarization was one for the books! 💙🖊️

I was called to the hospital to assist a family with a Durable Power of Attorney. The family was absolutely wonderful, the appointment went smoothly, and can we talk about the patient’s handwriting?! 😍

Their signature was GORGEOUS — the kind of signature that looks like an autograph. I told them so, too! ✍🏽✨

Documents completed. ✅
Notarization completed. ✅
Family taken care of. ✅
Parking paid. ✅
Finding my car afterward... ❌😂😂😂

Y’all… I could NOT find my car!

I walked around that hospital parking garage so long that it eventually took THREE PEOPLE to help me find it. And because it took me so long, the parking I had already paid for expired and I had to PAY AGAIN! 😩😂

Ahhhhh… the quirks of hospital notarizations!

You never quite know what the day will bring when you're a mobile notary. Sometimes the hardest part of the appointment isn't the paperwork — it's finding your way back home! 😂

🚗 Yesterday’s road led Family1st Notary LLC to Stark County!
We traveled to Stark County to complete a Hybrid Closing, making sure the printed portion of the package was properly completed and the required documents were returned promptly.
One thing about mobile notary work: “mobile” really does mean MOBILE! 😄 Some appointments are around the corner, and others require a little highway time. Either way, our clients and signing partners can expect the same professional attention to their documents.

Today was one of those days when I left a notarization with a heavy heart. 💔

I went to a hospital to provide a notarization, just as I have done many times before. But today reminded me that this profession is about so much more than signatures, stamps and paperwork.

Sometimes we walk into hospital rooms and nursing homes and encounter people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. We witness families making difficult decisions, loved ones facing uncertainty and patients who may be having an especially difficult day.

And sometimes, those moments stay with us long after we've packed up our notary bags and walked out the door.

Today was one of those days for me.

As mobile notaries, we're trained to remain professional, impartial and attentive. But we're human, too. We have hearts. We have compassion. And sometimes what we witness genuinely affects us.

I love what I do, but I don't think we talk enough about the emotional side of this profession.

To my fellow notaries who visit hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospice patients: Have you ever left an appointment feeling emotionally overwhelmed by what you witnessed?

Because today, I certainly did. ❤️

Sometimes the most important thing we carry out of an appointment isn't our notary bag. It's compassion.

Behind Every Signing Is a Story! 📑🚗

Yesterday was one of THOSE days in the life of a Mobile Notary! 😩

Imagine receiving a 231-page VA refinance package just 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Now imagine printing those documents, rushing to your appointment, navigating unexpected complications, working through additional trust paperwork, and trying to reach a lender whose office has already closed!

And the work doesn't stop when the signing ends. There are still documents to review, hundreds of pages to scan, and a package to prepare for shipping.

Whew! Some days, being a business owner requires a little extra patience, a whole lot of professionalism, and maybe another cup of coffee! ☕😂

But here's what I've learned: Every signing won't be perfect, but every client deserves patience, respect, and attention to detail.
