This is a great start to removing another source of air pollution. I just invested in a new electric mower and it’s so much more powerful than my older model. I don’t miss the gas powered mower at all!

When the city said it was giving away $100 to the first 200 residents who were willing to swap out their gas mower for a cleaner electric one, the spots were claimed quickly. Replacing lawn mowers won’t put us in the clear for improving air quality, but it’s a start.

Today in Air Quality news. . . A community learns that poor air quality may be connected to health problems. I sincerely hope the EPA and the State of Missouri can identify the source and get it cleaned up.

After learning from a ProPublica analysis that his Missouri city had a high estimated cancer risk from toxic air, Verona Mayor Joseph Heck demanded that the state investigate. Health officials confirmed his worst fears and want to learn more.
