Saturday, 1/24/2026, I spent four hours at the Mexican consulate in San Bernardino to take care of long overdue business. Proud to have my Mexican Passport and my INE card.
I’ve always been a very proud American, not so proud right now with this corrupt government we are presently facing and sadly facing the fact that more than half of Americans are fine and accepting of their president’s policies. We have always had a border issue however killing innocent people and harassing people is not the solution. FACTS : More than 70% of people detained by ICE are not criminals! Due process is NOT being practiced and it’s a shame that people are okay with this treatment and speaks volumes about ones character. FACTS:President Obama deported so many more than today’s president but with dignity and due process. It needs to be done correctly. We brown folks are just as much entitled to our freedom and rights.
I know my ancestors were mistreated and I will never forget and my children and their children need to know and stand proud and speak up for what’s happening. I love and appreciate my Mexican roots especially because my beloved ancestors are from the beautiful Zacatecas region and I am reminded of their heritage, culture, history and sacrifices all for their offspring and generations to follow. I can proudly represent my Mother’s heritage and her love for her land.
Next task is to get my family their dual citizenship.
My little house is Mexico is where I find myself filled with gratitude and closer to my ancestors. Life there is carefree and peaceful. Isn’t that what we all want. Peace and quiet for the remaining days of our lives.
