Federal felons’ gun-rights restoration have been unavailable, shy of a presidential pardon, since 1992. Now it’s changing.

Illinois is asking me to pay them $5 to update my address with them for my FOID - an address they already have from my driver's license

Update: The mailed me a physical card. In 2nd thought, $5 isn’t so bad then.

The Illinois State Police will have a FOID/CCL customer service booth inside the State Police building on Grandstand Avenue from 9 am-3 pm on Thursday, August 7, and from 9 am-5 pm on Friday, August 8 through Friday, August 15, 2025. Applicants and current cardholders will be able to seek assistance with their FOID/CCL applications and renewals.
