How to Demo Automations That Convert To Cash
It kills me to see all of you creating these fantastic workflows that get little exposure and even rejection due to some basic understanding of how and what your target client thinks about AI. It’s a waste of great talent and I'd like to give you some insight to what I experience in my AI consulting practice.
First, you may think during a demo your client will be impressed by the complexity of your workflow. This couldn’t be more from the truth. The more complex, the more the client is likely to start pulling back. Most business owners are already apprehensive about AI, hell, they don’t even know what the phrase “AI Automation" actually means. Not to mention when you pull back the curtain, all they’re really thinking is:
“Holy S**t, what if that breaks? And this is the only guy on the planet who knows how this works?”
You and your client live in two different worlds. You live in a world where satisfaction is defined by how much work / hours / thought / testing has gone into your project. The client’s world is defined by measurable results that they can visually see, period.
So how can you accomplish this without exposing them to a world they don’t understand? The following isn’t the complete solution but here are some top level tips:
Presentation: beautiful ai raised 18million for a slide deck company? Your presentation is everything. Put yourself in the clients day to day operations and show them how they’ll use your product. DashSlayer was designed to solve this problem
Operation: How does your product function? Do you have an “easy” way for them to execute your workflow or do they have to rely on you, or open the project themselves? FYI telling the client the workflow is automatic and running, without a way for “them” to turn it off scares the hell out of business owners. They want to be in control.
Results: Again, daily operations. Do they have to open 10 tabs AND have their email inbox flooded with approvals to see the data your flow creates? Make an easy, one page html the client can pull up and see results and/or take action.
Phrases to use:
I’ve streamlined my process and it's easy to follow. (Show them a simple workflow)

My other clients found this easy to use.
It’s not hard, you simply ….
Be aware of “All you have to do” - to you that phrase may be part of your daily operations but in the clients eyes it’s another operation, not everyone uses Google Sheets, a form to fill is a much easier input.
