Celebrating 7 years today. 💛

You see me a lot around here, but today felt like the perfect day to introduce you to the other half behind Smart Law: my husband, Peter.

While I’m usually the face you see, this business is something we’ve built and run together. Peter is my partner in so many ways: my sounding board, problem solver, behind-the-scenes support, occasional unpaid assistant 😂, and the person I can count on to step in wherever he’s needed.

More importantly, he’s an incredible husband and father. He is our family’s provider, protector, and safe place. Our boys are absolutely convinced their dad hung the moon, and I happen to agree. 💛

Smart Law is a local family-owned and operated small business, and so much of what happens behind the scenes is a family effort. I’m incredibly grateful to have a partner who believes in what we’re building and works alongside me to make it possible.

Today I’m celebrating seven years of marriage, the family we’ve created, the business we’re building, and getting to do all of it with my best friend.

Happy 7th anniversary to my person. 💛

A will and a living will are often confused, but they serve two very different purposes.

A Last Will and Testament directs what happens to your property and other assets after your death. A Living Will communicates your healthcare wishes if you're unable to speak for yourself.

Both documents play an important role in a comprehensive estate plan, and each serves a different purpose. Having one doesn't replace the need for the other.
