"What's the difference between a civil & a criminal case?"
Some differences between civil and criminal cases can be:
1. The losing party in a civil case usually pays monetarily rather than serve a jail sentence.
2. While criminal cases are filed by the government, civil cases are filed by private parties, such as an individual or a business against another individual or business.
3. Criminal cases include behavior that can be considered as threats to the public, society, or the state, such as murder, theft, assault, etc. Whereas civil cases include injury or damage to an individual or party, such as personal injury, defamation, property damage, etc.
