If you’re ever on the fence about getting out there and protesting/marching, just do it. Don’t have a sign? That’s fine. Think you don’t agree with every you might hear? That’s ok. Don’t want to chant? Don’t. Just put on your mask, go with an open mind, and LISTEN TO PEOPLE’S STORIES. Get out of your bubble for a little while. If nothing else, it’ll be educational. Don’t be afraid to change your mind. You won’t regret it. If nothing else, it’ll be educational. Among many others, we heard from: Myra Green, the Stanford-bound daughter of local lawyer, Dwayne Green, who talked about her experiences learning history in Charleston and dealing with racial division among her schoolmates. We heard from one of the 1st black female lawyers in Chas. County who got her law degree at American University b/c our state’s law school was “not a good place for black people.” We heard from Armand Derfner, a stalwart career civil rights lawyer, who’s been fighting inequality in the trenches for decades (google him). We heard the Chief of Police condemn the actions of the officers who killed George Floyd, and preach the importance of training officers to intervene when they see bad acts by fellow officers. Makes me proud to stand with my fellow lawyers and community leaders- for justice, compassion, and equality yesterday: @lareeh22 @rodney_davis_10 @mayortecklenburg, @rosslauren21, Julie Armstrong, @joecunninghamsc, @dmgreen6, @holycitylawyer, @charlestonprobono, Ben Pogue, Ashley Pennington; and Scarlett Wilson, Jennifer Shealy and many other Asst. Solicitors.

One of the worst things a criminal defense lawyer can do for a client is sugarcoat facts and minimize inculpatory evidence so the client can hear what he wants to hear; but a ‘man to man/woman’ conversation about criminal exposure between lawyer and client can only happen if there’s an adult on both sides. Trump demands to be treated like a child, so he ends up with people like Rudy. The collision between the delusion people like Rudy have curated for Trump, and the evidence of stark reality that Mueller is building is going to be a big one.

A Post reporter called Rudy Giuliani on a train, and two former white-collar criminal prosecutors eavesdropped.

Here's what Giuliani told her, and what the lawyers had to say about it.

The Chief, cutting to the chase...

“Let’s cut to the chase,” Chief Justice Costa Pleicones said, cutting off Deputy Solicitor General J. Emory Smith Jr. during his opening remarks. “This statute is pretty clearly unconstitutional in it’s discriminatory practices against same-sex couples.”
