5 things to know before you move to Charleston 🏡

1️⃣ Hurricane season is real. June–Nov. Flood insurance isn't optional here.
2️⃣ Lower taxes, but watch the fine print. HOA fees and flood zone insurance can eat into the savings.
3️⃣ Car insurance runs higher. More uninsured drivers here than up north.
4️⃣ School zones can flip block to block. Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester lines matter.
5️⃣ "Charleston time" is a real thing. Everything from contractors to closings moves slower. Build in buffer.

I made this move myself, so I know exactly what catches people off guard.
