Good news from the U.S. District Court of Rhode Island today! The Court ended some of the Trump administration's adjudication stops. Quite simply, it tells USCIS that they have to decide all applications before them, that they can't ignore the law for people from certain countries. It seems pretty simple, but these days, it's a major victory! May this decision survive the appeals and requests for stays that are undoubtedly on the way. We were happy to discuss the decision with WGBH this afternoon.
In a ruling harshly criticizing the administration, Chief Judge John McConnell Jr. accused the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of ignoring the law.
