On September 5, 2017 - Commerce found that certain packaging paperboard imported by Chenming International is not subject to antidumping and countervailing duties on coated paper suitable for high-quality print graphics using sheet-fed presses from China (A-570-958/C-570-959). Based on criteria developed in recent scope rulings, Commerce found that the paperboard is not “suitable for high quality print graphics,” on the basis that paper is unsuitable if it has a thickness greater than 310 micrometers and a density of less than 0.7 grams per cubic centimeter. A coalition of domestic manufacturers filed a petition on Aug. 16 with the Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission requesting new antidumping and countervailing duties on stainless steel flanges from China and India. Commerce will now decide whether to begin AD/CVD investigations on stainless steel flanges that could eventually result in the assessment of AD/CV duties. The coalition that requested the duties, known as the Coalition of American Flange Producers, includes as individual members Maass Flange Corporation and Core Pipe Products. [ 62 more words ]
