"I’m so tired! I just want to close my eyes. I could sleep forever.' This is a common thread among those who are emotionally spent.

And the number of people who suffer from this is escalating at an alarming rate.

This kind of tired is what happens when emotional trauma gets the upper hand.

Emotional trauma is so disempowering that it causes physical symptoms. And no amount of stimulants will help. In fact, “solutions” like coffee, tea (even green), alcohol or cannabis only deplete the body—specifically the adrenal glands—creating a vicious cycle of ups and downs. Besides, all those things only mask the problem.

From my own experience and from conversations with others who have at one time or still suffer silently, I have seen how important it is to address this issue."

This photo may just look like two drinks, but what it represents is so much more. My six year old son (who wakes up at the crack of dawn every morning 🙄) asked me if we could have “our special drinks” and read a power card together. It was still dark and the house was quiet. I quickly made my tea and he got his water box. He pulled out a power card which was about courage. One of the questions was “what does courage mean to you.” He told me “doing something that makes you feel nervous.” So true!! How many of us feel nervous doing something new?🙋🏻‍♀️ Of course, this looks differently to each of us based on what we are tackling. I was nervous to take the leap into a new career even though I have always been passionate about nutrition and should have been doing this all along. After being a stay at home mom, I needed and wanted to do something for me that would in turn benefit my family. I wanted to show my kids I can do both things! That I am strong, courageous and determined.💪

✨What can you do today, tomorrow or even in a week that will make you feel courageous? Maybe it’s a new weight loss program, new relationship, leaving a toxic relationship, starting a new career, moving, maybe it’s just speaking up for yourself and what you believe. How will you be courageous today??✨
