Where there’s a Will, there’s a way (pun intended)
Last week I conducted my first remote signing of estate planning documents. My elderly client lived alone and did not want to venture far from her apartment. We agreed on meeting at the local park. I left the documents on the picnic table and stepped back about 12’ to witness her signing. When she was finished she went back to her car and waited while my 19 yo daughter and I signed as witnesses. I also notarized where required, scanned the documents with a portable scanner and returned the fully executed documents in a box she had set up beside her car.
I also was honored to pick up some groceries that she needed and left them with the signed documents.
