Labor Day Traffic Enforcement Effort Leads to 91 Stops During Late-Summer Overtime Shifts

From August 14 through Labor Day, the Sheriff’s Office conducted nine dedicated overtime traffic enforcement shifts to reduce dangerous driving behaviors and improve roadway safety. These targeted shifts ranged from four to eight hours each and focused on speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt violations, DUI, and other hazardous behaviors.

Across the nine OT shifts, deputies made 91 traffic stops. Violation Breakdown:
✅ 27 speeding violations
✅ 14 distracted driving violations
✅ 5 Driving While Suspended
✅ 7 seatbelt violations
✅ 3 DUI offenses — all resulting in arrests
✅ 35 other violations

These results reflect stops made only during the dedicated overtime traffic shifts. Routine patrol enforcement occurring during regular duty hours is not included in these totals.
