Made a typo on your I-485? Don’t panic! A simple typographical error—like entering the wrong date of birth—may be considered a non-material mistake and is unlikely to change the outcome of your case.

🚨 Who Has Jurisdiction Over Your I-485?
Generally, USCIS has jurisdiction over your Adjustment of Status (I-485) if you are not in removal proceedings and do not have a final order of removal.
But there’s an important exception: “arriving aliens.” Even while in removal proceedings, USCIS may retain jurisdiction over an arriving alien’s I-485.
