2017 TAX UPDATES: REFUND DELAYS:

Beginning in 2017, if you claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC/EIC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) on your tax return, the IRS will hold your refund until February 15 — even the portion not associated with EITC or ACTC. Many early filers will still not have actual access to their refunds until the week of February 27. The additional delay is due to several factors, including weekends, the Presidents Day holiday and the time banks often need to process direct deposits.

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC/EIC) is a benefit for working people with low to moderate income. To qualify, you must meet certain requirements and file a tax return, even if you do not owe any tax or are not required to file. EITC reduces the amount of tax you owe and may give you a refund.

The Earned Income and AGI Limits varies from your Filing Status, and the number of Qualifying Children claimed.
