The Sunflower symbolizes loyalty, adoration, and longevity.
When I decided to bring Respect My Melanin back I didn’t truly understand the purpose of my brand until I read the quote above. When people see sunflowers they smile and that’s the same way I feel about our melanin. I want people of color to remember that the sun kisses our skin the same way it kisses sunflowers and our melanin ain’t going anywhere.
