Ketanji Brown Jackson gave us a master class on success the past few weeks. I love to study the greats of history, and she is definitely one of them. Here are my takeaways: 🔑Your spouse will impact (good or bad) your career. Never underestimate the power of pillow talk, a partner showing up to visibly support you or of a forehead kiss after a long day of battle. Choose wisely. 🔑It feels good to have allies. So many of us bravely fight our own battles every day with little to no support. It feels good when someone shows up and has your back. Kudos to Senator Booker. 🔑Our children are always watching us and it’s okay to admit to them that we don’t always get it right. Our children need to know that it’s okay to not get it right all of the time and the most important lessons can come from not getting something right. 🔑Act with dignity and grace in the face of hate or criticism. Seeing her competency challenged was triggering for me. You wouldn’t believe the amount of condescension I face DAILY. It doesn’t matter if I’m more experienced, earn more money or have more wins under my belt, I’m constantly treated as though I’m somehow inferior. It makes some people feel better about themselves to put others down. KBJ has shown me that none of that matters. Keep pushing forward with grace and dignity and you will eventually win. What did you learn from the KBJ confirmation hearings?

😳When the folks at CaseMetrix told us we had one of the Top 10 highest Premises Liability settlements of 2021, we thought they meant in the State of Georgia- we didn’t know they meant the Southeast United States —until they released their list today😳.

We are the only black owned firm and one of only 2 female lead counsels on the list.

We are so thankful to GOD first and foremost, to my co-counsel for trusting us to handle this case and to the attorney (one of the best in the country) for telling my co-counsel I was the woman for the job.
