With some of the nice days, we have started having complaints of certain violations within the village so I thought I
would send out a couple reminders regarding village ordinances. #1) Within the village, you are not permitted to open burn. The only exception is cooking which must be clean, seasoned firewood in a fire ring no larger than 3'x3'. #2) Also prohibited in the village is the use of golf carts, UTV's and ATV's or any similar type vehicles. That means you are not allowed to operate those vehicles on the roadway within the village of Apple Creek. #3) One other issue is the control of pets. Village ordinance states that when dogs are off of the owners property, the dog must be on a leash. When on the owners property, the dog does not have to be on a leash, but it must be under the control of the owner or responsible party. This means that your dog can not charge at folks as they walk by on the sidewalk or in the alleys. Dog owners are responsible for the actions of their pets. Many of the folks who have complained about the dogs have had contact with dogs on the sidewalks and in the alleys that is unwanted as they fear being attacked. With these few reminders, hopefully as the weather warms up and more people are out enjoying the weather, we will not have to deal with these issues and other nuisances. Thank you all for your cooperation!

Merry Christmas a Happy New Year, Jason!
My Great Uncle's 1950s Dynascope was stolen from our house in Smithville while we were moving. This is very special to me and my mother. Please let me know if anyone is trying to sell it. It is rare so it shouldn't come up very often. I was going to donate it to the school for the children to use it for generations to come. But now some heartless has taken that away from the town. The telescope was bought in 1958 for $2000.00. It is a Dynascope 10 and is 6 ft. 5 inch long with a 12 inch mirror. It has all it's 5 original lenses and mirrors, and d been in my family for 3 generations. Who ever broke in destroyed my grandmothers furniture and and even smashed our photots. Please help. #dynascope #smithville #smithvilleohio #stolen #Woosterohio #Wooster #Orville

I want to send a huge thanks out to all the officers who were at the Johnny Appleseed Festival tonite. So great knowing we have support from our local law enforcement.
I met Chief Woodruff many years ago. His extreme skills, devotion to law enfrcement and personality make him a top cop! He has always been community-orineted and I am sure he is quite visible in Applecreek. When you pass him on the road, give him a thumbs-up! 👍 He deserves your admiration - he has mine.
