Advocate Pongolela Jr David Pongolela is an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate courts. He is a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam (LL. Mr. Advocates.

B 2015), and Law School of Tanzania (Post โ€“ Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, 2016). He is also a trained Arbitrator from Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators, on Mediation and Arbitration Procedures. The right of appeal is sacred. Even those familiar with the Bible know that the Apostle Paul, after his case was heard before Festus and Festus failed to render a ruling on the charges against him, exercised his right to appeal to Caesar, as recorded in Acts of the Apostles 25:12. Throughout history, the right of appeal has existed and continues to play a vital role in the pursuit of justice. However, is this right absolute and unconditional? The answer is no. The right of appeal is governed by established rules and procedures designed to uphold fairness, order, and balance within the legal system.

Chain of custody refers to the meticulous documentation and tracking of evidence from the moment it is collected until it is presented in court. Encompasses the process of collecting, handling and preserving evidence from the time it is seized until its presentation in court.
In other word, chain of custody established a clear trail that shows who had possession of the evidence/exhibit at each stage, ensuring that its integrity is maintained and that it has not been tempered with or altered in any way or contaminated.

In a simple way, the chain of custody is the witnessed, unbroken, written chronological history of who had the evidence from the time of collection until it is presented as evidence in court.

Beyond technology, workforce reduction may also result from financial constraints such as declining revenues, economic downturns, high operating costs, business restructuring through mergers and acquisitions, shifts in business focus, or streamlining operations for efficiency. However, downsizing must be handled carefully, as it is a legally sensitive process. Employers must adhere to legal frameworks to avoid financial liabilities, ensuring a fair and lawful approach to workforce reduction. This article provides a legal perspective on the proper ex*****on of downsizing and or retrenchment.

In the case of Punjab Land Development and Reclamation Corporation Ltd., Chandigarh v. Presiding Officer, Labour Court, Chandigarh and Others, the Supreme Court of India had ample time to discuss at length the meaning of retrenchment and it holds that;
