๐Ÿ  Accidents happen but does that automatically mean a tenant must pay for a brand-new replacement? Not necessarily. A tenant may be responsible for careless or negligent damage to a landlordโ€™s property. However, the landlord should be able to support and justify the cost of the repairs, and not every damaged item automatically means the tenant must pay the full cost of a brand-new replacement.
Know the difference between paying for damage and being charged for an unnecessary upgrade. When in doubt, get legal advice before agreeing to a payment or deduction.
