MTN Unveils State-of-the-Art ICT Skills Centre to Empower Youth in Aweil
AWEIL, NORTHERN BHAR EL GHAZAL — In a major step toward bridging the digital divide, a new ICT Skills Centre sponsored by MTN South Sudan was officially launched today, August 31, 2026, at the Youth Center in Aweil Town.
The launch event drew crowds of local youth, community members, and officials gathered around the freshly inaugurated, vibrant yellow facility decorated for the occasion. Designed under the initiative of the MTN Skills Academy, the hub is tailored to equip young people across Northern Bahr el Ghazal State with vital computer literacy, technical capabilities, and digital innovation skills necessary for the modern job market.
The newly established facility features dedicated ICT rooms equipped with modern desktop computer workstations, providing a hands-on learning environment for local youth seeking to expand their career opportunities.
Speaking at the launch, representatives highlighted the initiative's goal: empowering young people through digital inclusion and practical technology education. Local youth turned out in large numbers, wearing MTN-branded t-shirts to celebrate the opening of what promises to be a transformative resource for the region's upcoming generation.
