Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allowed online filing of appeals.
According to the information disbursed by Tax Machinery, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched electronic filing of appeals with effect from January 2021, which has allowed taxpayers to file e-appeals, in response to this decision the number of return filers surged to 2.3 million by 3rd January.
The taxpayers, aggrieved by the orders of tax authorities, can e-file their appeals on the Iris Web Portal. In accordance with Inland Revenue Laws, the filed appeals will first scrutinized by the Inland Revenue Commissioner and then proceed onwards, if accepted. Moreover, in response to various media reports, the FBR authorities has also clarified that the last date has not extended this time to “restore the sanctity of last date”.
