Our Chair was bestowed with the distinguished honor of meeting the vibrant and zestful team of the 上海国际仲裁中心-Shanghai International Arbitration Center, which included Dorean Du, Head of Public Relations and Roy Zou, Deputy Director of Cooperation and Development Department.

They discussed Asia as an emerging hub for dispute resolution and the incredible input of SHIAC in the domain. Their discussions were marked by a shared commitment to innovation and they discussed the promising avenues of collaboration in the future, ultimately fostering a more advanced and harmonious environment for dispute resolution.

Our Chair had a pleasure to meet the vibrant Dr. Zachary Calo, Professor of Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Senior Counsel at McNair International.

His trip to Doha was packed, and he is thankful that Zachery provided him with the opportunity to visit Souk as a refreshing break. He is extremely grateful for the hospitality Zachery has shown towards him.

Zachery’s dual role as a professional and educator exemplifies his role in the legal domain and testifies his commitment to continued learning and bettering the profession. We look forward to extending the same hospitality hosting Zachery soon in Pakistan for the Pakistan International Disputes Weekend (PIDW).

Our Chair had a pleasure to meet Mohamed Ghofrane Gouja MRICS - FQSI - MCIOB - MSc CM - MBA - PMP, Managing Director Parley Parsons in Doha.

The underpinning objective of their meeting centred around achieving mutual goals for Qatar and Pakistan. We also invited Parsons in Qatar to the annual Pakistan International Disputes Weekend (PIDW), a premiere conference in South Asia for reviewing, reflecting and reviving the global dispute resolution terrain.

We hope we may work together to ascertain common goals for Qatar and Pakistan.

Our Chair had the opportunity to meet the vibrant Umar Azmeh from the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre. He congratulate Umar for becoming a father recently and thank him for meeting with me despite his personal engagements. The meeting was facilitated by the Rt. Hon. The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd, President of QIFCDRC where we discussed the possibilities of promoting ADR jointly.

QIFCDRC envisions upholding the rule of law and global best practices as a leading International Court, specialised in the resolution of civil and commercial disputes in Qatar and surrounding regions. We believe that QIFCDRC holds the potential to emerge as an epi-center for dispute Resolution as a world-class international court through its aim of fair, cost-effective and efficient delivery of justice.

Pakistan stands to learn greatly from institutions such as QIFCDRC’s case management and hearing systems for enhanced efficiency and we hope we may forge collaborations in the future to achieve so.
