10 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO AS A LANDLORD
1. Do not forcefully evict a tenant without following due process.
2. Do not enter the rented premises without giving the tenant proper notice.
3. Do not increase rent arbitrarily without prior notice or agreement.
4. Do not willfully deny your tenant access to the premises due to delay in rent payment.
5. Do not harass, intimidate, or threaten a tenant in a bid to recover possession.
6. Do not neglect necessary structural repairs of the premises.
7. Do not refuse to issue receipts for rent payments.
8. Do not discriminate or treat tenants unfairly based on race, tribe, or religion.
9. Do not seize a tenant's property as a means of enforcing rent.
10. Do not disregard the terms of the tenancy agreement you willingly entered into.
Being a landlord comes with rights, but those rights must be exercised within the bounds of the law. Self-help is not a substitute for due process.
