We are shocked and saddened of the news that a very senior member of Islamabad Bar, EX-Justice Islamabad High Court & EX- Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court Hon'ble Mr. Riaz Ahmad Khan have passed away last night. إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

Truly it is an irreparable loss to the legal fraternity of Pakistan, we have lost a competent Judicial Officer, a best senior lawyer and more than anything a kind hearted man.

May Allah bless his soul the highest ranks in Jannah, Our Sincere Condolences and Deepest Sympathies are with the aggrieved family of the deceased.

We deeply appreciate the upholding of democratic convention of continuity of Bar elections even in the face of adversity as both contesting candidates for presidential elections are still confined in Adiala Jail, which is unprecedented in the history of bar elections all over the country.

The following decisions were taken at today's meeting of the Pakistan Bar Council dated: February 23, 2021.

1. Withdraw all cases registered against lawyers.
2. Arrested lawyers should be released immediately.
3. Contempt of court proceedings against lawyers are
not within the jurisdiction of the court but are within
the purview of the Pakistan Bar Council and the
Provincial Bar Councils, Islamabad Baf Council.
4. The decision of the Islamabad High Court to
demolish the lawyers' chamber should be
withdrawn.
5. Withdraw notice of disciplinary action against
lawyers.
6. A strike was declared across Pakistan on February
25 to show solidarity with the lawyers of the
Islamabad Bar Council. And the deadline for all
these demands is February 28.

Otherwise, it was decided to convene the Pakistan Lawyers Convention in the first week of March.

~ Illegally demolishing chambers, trespass committed by state institutions malafide just in order to please themselves against innocent and civilized lawyers.

1. We demand immediate release of our arrested colleagues.
2. We demand immediate construction of Judicial Complex in ICT.
3. We demand action against high Officials of Islamabad Administration, who are illegally and unlawfully disturbing lawyers of IBA.
