Aktibong nakiisa ang siyam napu’t anim (96) na istudyante at ilang g**o ng Western Philippines University- Main campus, Aborlan, Palawan sa inilunsad na PLESP On-Campus ng Provincial Legal Extension Services Program (PLESP) ng Provincial Legal Office ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan kahapon March 12, 2025 na ginanap sa Technical Center, WPU, Aborlan, Palawan.

Ito ay ang ikatlong unibersidad o paaralan na nabisita sa ilalim ng programang PLESP. Layunin ng aktibidad na mabigyan ang mga estudyante ng kaalamang legal at iba pang mahahalagang impormasyon na makatutulong sa pagpapalawak ng kanilang kamalayan.

Pinangunahan nina PLESP Focal Person/Attorney V, Atty. Mary Joy Ordaneza-Cascara, Atty. Gellian Grace Baaco-Padilla, Atty. Ariel A. Abis and Atty. Christine Aribon, ang pagtalakay sa mga mahahalagang paksa na napapanahon sa mga kabataan tulad ng Anti-Child Marriage Law, Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, at Safe Spaces Act.
Nakibahagi rin ang Western Command sa programa sa pangunguna nina LCDR Ronne Riel C. Grimpola, PN, at LTC Ryan F. Maristaza, JAGS, na nagbigay ng overview tungkol sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) at binigyang-diin ang mahalagang papel ng kabataan sa pagsuporta sa adbokasiya ng bansa sa pagtatanggol ng karapatan sa WPS.
Samantala, tinalakay naman ni Maam Elvie Redon-Lao,RM mula sa Provincial Health Office (PHO) ang usapin ng Teenage Pregnancy.

Inaasahang marami pang kahalintulad ng nasabing aktibidad ang ilulunsad sa mga susunod na buwan sa iba pang unibersidad at paaralan dito sa lalawigan ng Palawan.

DISCUSSION ON CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES AND PERIODS OF CERTAIN PROHIBITED ACTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 12, 2025 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTION

Last Friday, December 13, 2024, the Provincial Legal Office (PLO) together with Provincial Legal Extension Services Program (PLESP) conducted a transformative full-day seminar/workshop at Palawan National School, bringing critical legal and health awareness to 54 student government members and their advisers.

Led by the dynamic team of Atty. Mary Joy Ordaneza Cascara and her colleagues - Atty. Mae Joyce Magbanua-Anjalin, Atty. Gellian Grace Baaco-Padilla, and Atty. Azel Faith Fajarito, the event showcased a comprehensive approach to student education.

The workshop featured a multi-dimensional curriculum addressing crucial social issues, including West Philippine Sea awareness, Anti-Child Marriage, Teenage Pregnancy prevention, HIV awareness, Safe Spaces Act provisions, and strategies against bullying and sexual harassment.

The activity was more than just a typical educational session. It featured a diverse lineup of speakers from various important sectors, including LCDR Ronne Riel C. Grimpola PN from the Western Command and Mr. Meyrick Garces RN from Provincial Health Office. The event was carefully designed to provide students with valuable insights, practical knowledge, and an engaging learning experience.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to not just inform, but empower students with practical knowledge about their legal rights, personal safety, and social responsibilities. The workshop maintained a delicate balance between serious educational content and an engaging, supportive atmosphere.

The collaborative effort between Legal Professionals, Health experts, and Educational institutions underscores a proactive approach to youth development and social awareness in Palawan.

PLESP Launches First On-Campus Initiative at Palawan State University

Marking the beginning of a series of youth-focused initiatives, the Provincial Legal Extension Services Program (PLESP) of the Palawan Provincial Legal Office lead by Atty. Joshua U. Bolusa together with Atty. Mary Joy Ordaneza-Cascara, Atty. Gellian Grace Baaco-Padilla and Atty. Azel Faith Fajarito conducted its first on-campus session on December 2, 2024, at Palawan State University-Main Campus. The program engaged 40 student leaders in meaningful discussions on critical issues such as bullying and harassment, addressing both local and international contexts.

LCDR Ronne Riel C. Grimpola,PN and LTC Ryan F. Maristaza Jags from the Western Command (WESCOM) provided an in-depth overview of the West Philippine Sea issue, emphasizing the role of students in supporting the Philippines' advocacy for territorial integrity. Additionally, the session focused on legal frameworks such as the Anti-Bullying Act, Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, and Safe Spaces Act, highlighting their importance in creating a safer and more inclusive campus environment.

Meyrick J. Garces, RN, MPHA from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) shed light on the societal impacts of teenage pregnancy, while the Anti-Child Marriage Law was introduced to underscore efforts in safeguarding youth rights and well-being.

This marks the first of many planned PLESP activities designed to empower the youth through education and advocacy.

In response to the invitation of Bgy Calategas, Narra, Palawan, the Lawyers of the Provincial Legal Extension Services Program under the Provincial Legal Office conducted a lecture last October 10, 2024 at Bgy Calategas Gym, Narra, Palawan.
Various laws, such as Violence against Womern and thier Children (VAWC), Anti-Trafficking in Persons, Anti Child Marriage, and Duties and Functions of Barangay Officials were discussed. The said topics were presented by Atty. Mary Joy Ordaneza-Cascara, Atty. Gellian Grace Baaco-Padilla, Atty. April Joy Rabang-Baylosis, Atty. Christine Aribon, and Atty. Azel Faith Fajarito.

A total of 42 participants attended, including barangay officials, their Lupon, and BHW. The program provided a whole day filled with knowledge for the said barangay.
