WE REVIEW STUDENT VISA REFUSAL

Immigration authorities worldwide are implementing stricter measures for student visa applications. As a result, refusal rates are increasing in many major study destinations due to concerns over non-genuine applications, insufficient financial evidence, and incomplete or inconsistent supporting documents.

Students are encouraged to prepare strong, accurate, and well-documented applications to improve their chances of approval.

Applicants should ensure:
✅ Complete and verifiable financial records
✅ Clear academic progression
✅ Well-structured study plans
✅ Genuine temporary entrant/student intent
✅ Accurate and consistent documentation

👉A professionally prepared application can make a significant difference.

We can help assess and strengthen your profile.

Applicants from more US visa category groups are now required to set their social media accounts public, based on the latest advisory of the US Embassy in Manila.

Effective March 30, visa applicants who need to change their social media privacy setting belong to the following categories:
Fiancé(e) Visa Applicants (K-1, K-2, and K-3 visas)
Certain Personal Employees or Domestic Workers (A-3, C-3, and G-5 visas)
Trainee or Special Education Exchange Visitors (H-3 and their H-4 dependents)
Cultural and Religious Visitors (Q, R-1, and R-2 visas)
Informant, Witness, and Victims of Crimes (S, T, and U visas)
These categories are in addition to Students and Exchanges (F, M, and J) and Specialty Occupations (H-1B and their H-4 dependents) categories.
According to the embassy, it is using such information "to determine applicants’ eligibility to receive a visa."
Since 2019, it said, the US has required visa applicants to provide social media usernames on immigrant and nonimmigrant visa application forms.
"Visa applicants are required to list all social media usernames, handles, or identifiers for every platform they have used in the last 5 years on the visa application form," it said.
"Applicants certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit," it added.
It also warned that omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas.

NAIA IMPLEMENTS TERMINAL CHANGES

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport Infra Corp (NNIC) announced terminal reassignments for several airlines starting March 29, 2026, with Air China, China Eastern, Vietnam Airlines, Royal Brunei, and Shenzhen Airlines moving from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3, while Philippine AirAsia (international) and AirAsia Berhad shift from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1.

Japan Airlines will transfer from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 beginning April 1, 2026.

Passengers are advised to verify terminal assignments and use the airport’s biometric check-in system, which includes facial recognition and passport scanning at designated kiosks.

29/03/2026

The Bureau of Immigration at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals reminds travellers to secure all requirements to avoid delays and arrive at the airport three hours before their scheduled flight.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the Bureau has intensified its deployment of frontline personnel in major international airports to manage the expected surge in passenger volume during the Holy Week, which is a "peak travel period."

“We anticipate a significant increase in passenger traffic this Holy Week. Our officers are fully deployed to ensure smooth and efficient processing, but we strongly advise the public to arrive early and come prepared with complete documents,” said Viado.

The move is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to improve the delivery of government services, especially during peak travel seasons.

Foreign nationals who have stayed in the Philippines for more than six months are reminded to secure their Emigration Clearance Certificates (ECC) prior to departure. Meanwhile, registered foreigners holding ACR I-Cards are advised to obtain their re-entry permits ahead of time through BI offices or at the BI One-Stop-Shop in NAIA.

Filipino government workers traveling abroad, even for personal purposes, are required to present a travel authority from their respective agencies. Minors traveling alone are likewise reminded to secure the necessary travel clearance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Viado emphasized that early processing of these requirements helps decongest airport queues and ensures a more seamless travel experience for all passengers.

He added that the Bureau continues to utilize its e-gates system, which significantly reduces processing time and enhances efficiency at immigration counters. Travelers are also advised to fill out their eTravel via its website at eTravel.gov.ph or via the eGovPH super app. The use of the eTravel, Viado said, is free of charge. | via Rodolfo Santos
