🚨Adviser update🚨

Starting 16 November 2026, applications for the new Short-Term Graduate Work Visa (SGWV) and the Post-Study Work Visa (PSWV) are moving fully online to the enhanced Immigration Online platform.

Here is what you need to know:

🔹 Paper forms are ending: No paper applications will be accepted for these visas from 16 November onwards.

🔹 SGWV deadlines: International students must apply within 3 months of their student visa expiring. Note: If a student visa expired before 16 August 2026, they won't be eligible.

🔹 PSWV deadlines: Applications must be submitted within 3, 6, or 12 months of the student visa expiring, depending on the course of study and previous visa held.

Moving forward, these must be submitted digitally through the enhanced Immigration Online system.

Why the change?
Applying online means less paperwork, real-time tracking, and a much smoother process from start to finish!
Already submitted a paper form?
Don't worry! Any paper applications received before 1 October will be processed as normal. No action is required on your part.

👧 Child (15 and under) — now $320
📝 Citizenship by descent — from $278

Also reminder:
Most citizenship-by-grant applicants will need to pass an in-person test covering NZ government, rights & responsibilities, voting, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and more from late 2027.

🚨Adviser update🚨

Immigration New Zealand has announced key changes for visa applicants starting September 2026:

Tonga Updates (From 14 September)
New Centre: A new Visa Application Centre (VAC) opens in Nuku'alofa, operated by VFS Global.
Paper Applications: All paper applications and Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) visas must go through this new VAC.
Services: Offers face-to-face service, longer hours, and appointment bookings (a VAC service fee applies).

Samoa Updates (From 7 September)
Samoan Quota Route: Applicants must submit paper forms, documents, and fees directly to the Apia VAC.
Process: Immigration New Zealand Apia still assesses and decides on applications; only the intake and digitisation processes are changing.
