In another narration, the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said;
O people! Hajj has been made obligatory upon you, so perform the Hajj. A man asked, "Is that every year, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet (sas) remained silent while the man repeated his question three times. Then he said, "If I had said 'yes' then it would have become obligatory upon you [i.e. every year], and you would not have been able to do so. Do not ask me about that which I have left unspecified, for verily the nations before you were destroyed by their excessive questioning and argumentation with their Prophets. If I order you with something then do as much of it as you are able, and if I forbid you from something then keep away from it."

From these narrations, we can clearly see that;
1. Every forbidden things should be avoided. Do not go near it.
2. The obligatory aspects depends on your capability.
3. Avoid asking too many questions, just follow the order.

P.s: saying obligatory depends on capability does is meant for those things which are below the level of fard (compulsory), the voluntary solaah and fast, unlike the obligatory solaah which MUST be observed and the Ramadan fast. So don't get it twisted.

Lessons from this hadith;
1. Intention is an important element of Islamic worship, as it determines the sincerity and validity of one's actions.

2. Intention should be for the sake of Allah, and not for any other worldly gain or personal interest.

3. Allaah (SWT) rewards us based on our intentions and efforts, and not merely on the outward form of our worship, even if our actions must still be in line with the sunnah of the prophet (SAW) for it to be accepted.

4. Intention should be made before starting any act of worship, and it should be clear and specific.

5. Constant renewal of intention

May Allaah grant us perfect understanding of the Deen.
