A recent conversation in our office reminded me why I chose to do family law differently.
Imagine a woman walking into our office ready to begin divorce proceedings.
She is overwhelmed. She can barely gather her thoughts. So before we speak about petitions, affidavits, or even why she wants a divorce, we invite her to spend a few minutes breathing.
No legal advice.
No interrogation.
Just a quiet moment to settle her mind.
When the conversation begins, it is different.
As the tension eases, she realizes what has broken down in her marriage is not love.
It is communication.
It is trust.
It is feeling unseen and undesired.
She leaves with clarity instead of urgency.
Now imagine her returning two weeks later.
Not to file for divorce.
But to enrol her family in our Family Yoga Programme.
That is the vision behind what we are building at Femina Solicitors and Advocates.
We have integrated yoga and mindfulness into our family law practice because family disputes are rarely only legal problems.
They are often human problems with legal consequences.
The law resolves rights and responsibilities.
A regulated mind creates space for better conversations, healthier decisions, and, where possible, stronger families.
At Femina Solicitors and Advocates, we believe the law should protect families.
We also believe families deserve the opportunity to pause, breathe, and think before making life changing decisions.
Sometimes the right outcome is a well argued case.
Sometimes the right outcome is a conversation that saves a family.
Welcome to a new approach to family law.
