Objectives:
• To provide an overview of women’s right to health care in Nigeria specifically, and within the sub-Saharan African region generally
• To discuss issues and barriers relating to access and equity
• To contribute to and facilitate policy development on healthcare in Nigeria
• To ensure increased awareness of the financial, socio-cultural and legal aspects of health care for African women

• Elaborating on International and sub-national aspects of the legal right to healthcare

b. Socio-cultural Hurdles and Point of Care Realities in Women’s Healthcare
• What social and cultural issues exist for women in accessing healthcare?
• Where are these issues most prevalent in Africa?
• What institutions are available to prevent these hurdles?
