For the entrepreneur who has sold a business, the family stewarding a business built over generations, or the principal holding significant capital with no immediate purpose for it:
Before capital is deployed, its purpose must be defined.
Is it intended to preserve purchasing power? Generate income? Diversify away from the operating business? Support the next generation? Or remain liquid for future opportunities?
Until that is clear, every investment decision is incomplete.
