Speaking tomorrow at the 9th Annual Symposium hosted by by 10am.
I’ll be sharing on “Parenting The Whole Child with Cerebral Palsy.”

If you’re a parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy, this is a conversation you truly don’t want to miss. Come ready with your questions, your concerns, and an open heart. We’ll be having real, honest, and practical discussions.

For those who may not know me, here’s a little about my journey:

I am Adedotun Akande, a passionate advocate for Nigeria’s autism community and the founder of Patrick Speech and Language Centre, established in 2006 as the country’s first autism center. Through this work and the Puresouls Learning Foundation, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children with autism through speech and occupational therapy, and seeing many successfully integrate into mainstream schools.

I’m also deeply committed to creating vocational opportunities for adults with autism because every individual deserves dignity, purpose, and inclusion.

My journey hasn’t been without challenges: funding, awareness, and societal perceptions but my drive is rooted in my lived experience as a mother and my passion to see families like mine thrive.

I look forward to connecting with you.

Thank you all so much for the outpouring of love, from the beautiful birthday wishes to the heartfelt condolences. Your messages, calls, prayers, and words of comfort have meant more to me than I can ever express. In moments of joy and in moments of grief, you stood by me, and I deeply appreciate every gesture of kindness. May God bless each of you for celebrating me, supporting me, and surrounding me with so much warmth. I am truly grateful. ❤️🤍

It’s my birthday, but this year, I want to dedicate this space to someone incredibly special: my brother-in-law, Mr. Olusegun Awolowo.

While he was family by marriage, he was so much more, a pillar of strength, a source of unwavering support, and a true cornerstone of our family. He stood by us in our most challenging moments, and his presence was a constant, reassuring force. For the gift of his life and for allowing our paths to cross in this lifetime, I am eternally grateful to God.

We remember him as an intentional and loving husband to my sister, a doting and devoted father to his children, and a grandfather whose eyes lit up with pure joy. He was, in every sense, a lover of family.

Though he is no longer with us physically, his legacy of love and kindness continues to surround us. We miss his laughter, his wisdom, and his presence every day. On this day, as you all so kindly celebrate me, I humbly ask for your prayers for my sister, their children, and grandchildren. Please pray that they feel God’s comfort and strength in abundance, and that the peace which surpasses all understanding guards their hearts.
May his beautiful soul continue to rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed, but forever loved.

Meet Oreofe—an exceptional young man whose moving rendition of “We Are The World” filled the hall at the Mone events with unity and hope yesterday. His talent reaches beyond the stage: he is diligent, kind, and proudly on the autism spectrum, with a deep desire to contribute meaningfully to his community.

Oreofe has just relocated to Abeokuta, Ogun State, and is seeking a role where his focus, reliability, and commitment can shine—whether at a desk, in a workshop, in hospitality, education, retail, or any inclusive workplace. He has worked with us at Patricks for over five years as a classroom assistant, earning a reputation for patience, punctuality, teamwork, and genuine care for others.

Abeokuta, we need your support. Please share this post and tag brands, businesses, schools, NGOs, and organizations known for inclusive hiring. If you’re recruiting or can make an introduction, kindly reach out. Let’s show that Abeokuta is a place where talent, passion, and neurodiversity are celebrated.

Happy 30th Birthday, Tomike!

What a joy to celebrate a content creator extraordinaire whose kindness, reliability, and excellence shine so brightly. You steward your gifts with such grace, lifting others and bringing light everywhere you go. I’m so proud of the woman you are.

I know this milestone comes with tender emotions after losing Mum. May God wrap you in His comfort and steady your heart day by day. Your mother’s love and legacy live so beautifully in you—every act of kindness, every brave step, every story you tell. She would be incredibly proud of who you are and all you’re becoming.

I speak God’s blessing over your new decade: fresh vision, holy confidence, uncommon favor, and creativity that heals and inspires. May your voice carry hope, your platforms overflow with grace and truth, and your steps be ordered by the Lord. May joy return in full measure, doors open at the right time, and may you be surrounded by people who cherish and strengthen you.

“…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Isaiah 61:3

Keep shining, dear niece. The best is yet to come, and God is faithfully writing your story. With all my love and prayers.
