Happy 60th, my dear sister Delerus. Dele ❤️. Sixty years of life, love, lessons and, above all, God’s faithfulness. Through every season, the laughter, the tears, the victories and the quiet battles, His everlasting arms have carried you.
Today, I thank God not only for how far He has brought you, but for the woman you have become: wiser, stronger, deeper in faith and secure in His grace. Six decades have written a beautiful story, and I believe some of the best chapters are still ahead.
My prayer for you as you enter this new decade is that God renews your strength, deepens your joy and fills your days with peace, good health, purpose and unexpected blessings. May He heal every hidden hurt, surround you with genuine love, and let your latter years be even more beautiful and fulfilling than those before. Your promise remains Isaiah 43:19.

“Behold, I will do a new thing…”

Happy 60th, Sis, enjoy your beautiful day ❤️🎂😍🫶🏾🎁💞🎉💃🏽🎊😘🙌🏾🤗

First and foremost, I give God all the glory. Every milestone, every opportunity to serve, and every life that has been impacted is only possible because of His grace and faithfulness.

The award presented to me yesterday by the National Association of Exceptional Children was truly nostalgic.

As I looked around the hall, I saw familiar faces, parents of children living with autism, caregivers, and teachers we have had the privilege of training through the Patrick Speech Academy. Meeting many of them again at the award ceremony, held at the Main Auditorium, Distance Learning Institute (DLI), University of Lagos, reminded me of how far we have all come together.

This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to every parent who chose hope over fear, every caregiver who remained committed, every teacher who embraced inclusion, and every child whose journey continues to inspire us.

More than an award, it is a reminder that our work is touching lives, creating change, and leaving a lasting impact. It encourages us to keep going, to reach more families, train more professionals, and continue advocating for a society where every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

My heart is full of gratitude. This is not the end of the journey; it is simply another reminder that there is still so much more to do.

To God be all the glory.

🏫 Mrs. Akande recently visited Oxbridge Tutorial College, GRA, where she trained teachers and school staff on how to better understand and support children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, intellectual disability, and other developmental differences.

She shared practical strategies to help teachers communicate effectively, support different learning styles, respond to behaviours with understanding, and create classrooms where every child can thrive.

This is not a one-time effort. Teacher training is a continuous commitment at Patrick Speech and Language Centre because education keeps evolving, and so should the skills of those who teach our children.

📢 Would you like Mrs. Akande and the Patrick Speech and Language Centre team to train the teachers in your school?

We provide continuous professional development for teachers, school owners, and support staff, equipping them with practical skills to better support every child.

🌍 If you’re outside Lagos, you can still participate. Our training is available virtually, making it accessible wherever you are.

⏰ Registration for the current training closes TODAY!

Don’t miss this opportunity to invest in your teachers and create a more inclusive, supportive learning environment for every child.

Speaking tomorrow at the 9th Annual Symposium hosted by by 10am.
I’ll be sharing on “Parenting The Whole Child with Cerebral Palsy.”

If you’re a parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy, this is a conversation you truly don’t want to miss. Come ready with your questions, your concerns, and an open heart. We’ll be having real, honest, and practical discussions.

For those who may not know me, here’s a little about my journey:

I am Adedotun Akande, a passionate advocate for Nigeria’s autism community and the founder of Patrick Speech and Language Centre, established in 2006 as the country’s first autism center. Through this work and the Puresouls Learning Foundation, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children with autism through speech and occupational therapy, and seeing many successfully integrate into mainstream schools.

I’m also deeply committed to creating vocational opportunities for adults with autism because every individual deserves dignity, purpose, and inclusion.

My journey hasn’t been without challenges: funding, awareness, and societal perceptions but my drive is rooted in my lived experience as a mother and my passion to see families like mine thrive.

I look forward to connecting with you.
