COMRD. ABDULLAHI KOLI: THE FALL OF GIANT IROKO AMIDST THE NEED OF IT'S SERENADING SHADE
At a time when millions of activists chose to be taciturn, make their pockets heavy and abandon workers in their travails, one leader sprouted who is unique, fearless and risk-taker for the sake of others. Comrade Abdullahi Usman Koli dedicated his entire life and privileges to the public service, workers' unionism and serving as voice of the people whose freedom of expression were infringed; he is like a Messiah who gives essentials solely for God's sake.
He is one of the few in Bauchi State whose names rang across the nation not for the millions garnered but for standing on truth, speaking to authority and providing tangible solutions to the prolonged societal vices. Comrd. Koli guided several young writers whose works compete in the global pages, his incomparable indepth analysis gave hints to concerned bodies while serving a formidable link between the government and the governed.
When Comrd. Abdullahi Koli is being interviewed on national issues, people of all ages listen not because of talking about what affect them but speaking what meander in their minds. He understands the dire needs of communities, lives amongst the low income earners and response to questions with facts not mere say and with exact figures not guessing. He is rare as he never allows cordiality to prevent him from telling the naked truth and recommendations that favor all.
The death of Comrade Abdullahi Koli is a colossal loss not to his immediate family but to the labour community in Bauchi State and nation, he left at the time when his voice, actions and vital guidance are needed the most. We have loss a father whose elitism, knowledge and limitless experiences shine our path, a vibrant wall that supports, motivates and helps many to reach the top of careers has fallen; we will never let his parental trainings go unpracticed.
While we grieve the loss of a pillar whose contributions to transforming the lives of known and strangers could not be over stated, on behalf of the Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, Hon. Members and staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, labour community and general public over his demise. May Almighty Allah (S.W.A) forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest while giving fortitude to his family members to bear his irreparable loss.
