INTEGRITY HAS AN ADDRESS.
Some people leave behind buildings. Some leave behind titles. A few leave behind something even more valuable, a reputation that stands the test of time.
In 2023, when the eyes of an entire state were fixed on the electoral process, Prof. Nnenna Oti found herself in a position where many would have bowed to pressure, compromise, or personal gain. Instead, she chose the path of truth.
Today, her name proudly sits on a modern transport terminal in Umuahia, a facility that represents progress, development, and service to the people. That recognition is not merely about a building. It is about what the building symbolizes: courage, integrity, and accountability.
In a society where many people believe honesty is unrewarded, this serves as a powerful reminder that character still matters. While wealth may fade and influence may diminish, integrity creates a legacy that generations can remember.
What inspires me most is that this recognition was given while she is still alive to witness the impact of her actions. It sends a clear message to public servants, professionals, leaders, and young people alike:
Your decisions matter. Your integrity matters. Your name matters.
Every day, life presents us with choices between convenience and principle, between personal gain and doing what is right. The easy choice may offer temporary rewards, but the right choice can create a lasting legacy.
Prof. Nnenna Oti's story reminds us that one moment of courage can define a lifetime of respect.
As we prepare for the future and continue building a better Nigeria, may more people choose truth over pressure, service over self-interest, and integrity over compromise.
Because at the end of the day, the greatest monument anyone can build is not made of concrete or steel.
It is a good name.
Congratulations, Prof. Nnenna Oti. Your story is a reminder that integrity is never wasted, and indeed, integrity has an address. 🇳🇬✨
