It's been a long hiatus. I am back and probably, I will focus more on this page.
If you wish to do change of name, recovery of lost CAC documents, change of particulars, change of directors, secretary, shareholders and trustees, change of objects etc You must file up to date annual returns. The entity status must be updated from inactive to active. It is only when a status report is showing the entity status is active, that is when these change filings can be approved.
Post incorporation filings are filed by CAC Accredited Agents like me.

There is something I learnt from a course. Business process engineering, is trying to change the old process to introduce a new process for effective business.
When you need to change the whole old process to introduce new strategies, new staff and other business techniques.
Some of the old staff may not like it but, it may be necessary for business growth.

When i clicked to find out the meaning of online trading, guess what popped up forex and stocks. Some of my clients who engage in forex, stocks and crypto have approached me in the past to tell me they want to register it as a business name and I told them it can only be registered as a limited by shares company.
The good news is you can also register such business as a business name by simplifying it in your objects as an online trading company.

Letter of good standing shows that your business was duly registered at CAC and you have duly filled all statutory returns. You can't apply for letters of good standing, without paying annual returns.
Letter of good standing is needed when you want to apply for visa with your corporate account or partner with a foreign company in another country or maybe even within Nigeria too.

Do you know that even when you upgrade your business name to a limited by shares company it can still exist?
Yes.
Where a notice of cessation was not filed for the business name before the upgrade of the business name to limited by shares company, the business name will still be an entity and can still file annual returns and do business. But where a notice of cessation is filed before the business name is upgraded to limited by shares company, the business name cease to exist as an entity under CAC.
