The High Court has upheld the ACB’s decision to maintain restrictions on some accounts linked to the Amaryllis Hotel transaction, while allowing operational hotel accounts to be unfrozen to avoid disrupting legitimate business operations.

Justice Redson Kapindu ruled, on 4th May 2026, that preservation measures during investigations are lawful and necessary, but must be balanced against the need to protect legitimate trade and economic activity.

The Court also affirmed that the ACB has powers to preserve assets and continue investigations where there are reasonable grounds to do so.
