Ministry of Commerce Notification to Importers
The Ministry of Commerce, Department of Trade, issued Notification No. 4/2025 on 31 December 2025. The directive stipulates that, effective from 1 January 2026, the validity period for import license and permit applications submitted by importers shall be limited to 180 days.
In accordance with this regulation, companies applying for licenses to import goods for trading purposes within the country are permitted to submit only one application per calendar month for a given product type. Within that month, only the single application submitted for the specified product type will be considered and approved.
Furthermore, any import license or permit application that remains pending beyond the 180-day validity period will be automatically canceled within the Myanmar Tradenet 2.0 system.
Importers are therefore strongly advised to remain attentive to these regulatory requirements and to ensure full compliance with the Ministry’s announcements concerning import license and permit applications.
