RESOLUTION ON PRIESTLY FRATERNITY, SAFEGUARDING, AND CHURCH SUPPORT DRIVE
We, the Clergy of Liberia, having met at the St. Paulโs College-Seminary, Gbarnga, from February 19-21, 2025, prayerfully deliberating on our mission to serve the People of God in Liberia, do resolve:
1. To continuously pray for the health and wellbeing of the Holy Father, Pope Francis โ asking Godโs blessings and protection upon him as he leads the Universal Church.
2. To recommit ourselves in collaborating with our Local Ordinaries in providing pastoral care to our people according to provisions of canon 529, ยง2.
3. To uphold firmly the protection of minors and vulnerable adults under our pastoral care in line with the Policy Guidelines of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Liberia (CABICOL) and the Universal Church according to the provisions of Art. 1, ยง1 of Vox Estis Lux Mundi, Art. 6, ยงยง1 & 2 of the Motu Proprio Sacramentorum Sanctitatis Tutela (2nd Revision, 2021), and canon 1398, ยงยง1 & 2 of the 2021 revised penal law of the Code of Canon Law.
4. To reaffirm our obligation to promote responsible stewardship of Churchโs resources, and to strongly encourage the faithful to contribute to the sustenance of the Church according to the provisions of can. 222, ยง1.
5. To foster our priestly fraternity, sharing the joy, hopes and grief of one another according to provisions of canon 275, ยง1. Thus, we have elected as our leaders:
a. President: Fr. Prince Nimley Sieh
b. Vice President: Fr. Paul Tamba Folleh
c. Secretary: Fr. Octavius Paye Flomo
d. Financial Secretary/ Treasurer: Fr. Victor Emmanuel Torkor Sonkarley
e. Chaplain: Fr. Francis Donyen Topor
