🌕🙏 **Esala Full Moon Poya Day – Turning the Wheel of Dhamma 🙏🌕
Esala Poya is a deeply significant day in Buddhism. It commemorates Lord Buddha’s first sermon, the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, delivered to the five ascetics at Isipatana, setting in motion the Wheel of Dhamma. 🌿✨
This Poya also marks the start of the Vas season (annual rains retreat) for monks, a time for deeper meditation and reflection. It is also celebrated with the Kataragama Perahera, symbolizing devotion and cultural heritage in Sri Lanka. 🕊️🪔
